Vietnam Embassy in Laos lends helping hand to flood victims

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Embassy in Laos launched a fundraising campaign on November 25 to help flood victims in Vietnam’s flood-stricken localities.

In his remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung emphasized serious losses of lives and property trigged by recent Damrey storm to the south central and Central Highlands region and called on embassy staff, Vietnamese agencies, Vietnamese expats and businesses in Laos to join efforts to help local residents overcome the aftermath of the typhoon.

The campaign will run until December 1 and the proceeds will be sent to families hit by the typhoon at the earliest possible time.

Up to November 25 noon, the total proceeds have amounted to US$6,830. Earlier, overseas Vietnamese in Laos donated more than US$10,000 for flood victims in the home country deal with the aftermath of typhoon Doksuri.
