Vietnam and the Czech Republic have vowed to intensify their cooperation in environmental protection, focusing on the management of refuse, and waste water to bring degraded areas back to their original state.
A Memorandum of Understanding underscoring the initiative was signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Czech Ministry of Environment, at a meeting in Hanoi, on April 12.
Speaking on the Czech Republic’s development assistance to Vietnam in the field of the environment, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Pham Khoi Nguyen expressed hope that the Czech Republic will become a valued partner in Vietnam's efforts to improve its environmental management systems.
The Czech Republic has been helping Vietnam in managing waste, restoring polluted areas, managing the environmental protection fund, and handling Agent Orange/dioxide, as part of its non-refundable assistance programme for the country.
