Sixty more cases of A/H1N1 flu - a record number for a single day - have been confirmed as of 17:00 local time of July 27, bringing the total number of the super flu victims in Vietnam to 672.
They include 52 in southern provinces, 4 in northern provinces, 2 in the central region, and 2 in the Central Highlands, according to the Head of the Health Ministry’s Preventive Health and Environment Department Nguyen Huy Nga.
So far, no fatalities have been reported and 375 cases have been discharged from hospital. The rest, being quarantined and treated, are all in stable condition.
The European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) said there have been 160,038 confirmed cases of the flu in 145 countries and territories, including 991 fatalities, as of July 27.
