The Ministry of Health on September 25 confirmed two more deaths from the A/H1N1 flu, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 12.

A male patient, 30, in Ho Chi Minh City was hospitalised on September 21 with symptoms of fever and breathing difficulties. He was then treated with Tamiflu, however, he died from pneumonia and respiratory failure on September 24.

The other case, a 23-year old female patient in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak, was 36 weeks pregnant. She was admitted to the hospital on September 20 but she passed away five days later.

The ministry reported an additional 175 confirmed cases of the super flu on September 25 alone, bringing the total number to 8,014.

Of those, a total of 6,495 patients have been discharged from hospital after treatment. The remainder are under quarantine and being treated. All are in stable condition.
