Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting to begin this week

The 24th Vietnam-China youth friendship meeting is set to be held in Vietnam from April 12 to 18, featuring a range of dynamic and meaningful activities aimed at strengthening ties, mutual understanding, and cooperation between the young generations of both nations.

This annual event is co-organised by Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China on a rotational basis. Each edition sees around 100 outstanding young delegates from the two sides participate in cultural exchanges, dialogues, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

This year’s programme will take place in Hanoi and the northern provinces of Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh. There will be a Vietnam-China youth forum, workshops on youth theoretical work, development of youth unions, digital transformation, young intellectuals, and youth engagement in technological start-ups and innovation.

Delegates will visit and engage with various institutions, youth organisations, and historical landmarks, offering them insights into Vietnam’s cultural and historical heritage.

According to the organisers, the event coincides with the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – 2025) as well as a state visit by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping on April 14-15.
