Vietnam will intensify cooperation with foreign partners, especially with those countries sharing borderlines, in the fight against drug crime.

The affirmation was made by a Vietnamese delegation at the 12th Asia-Pacific conference on law enforcement cooperation against drug crime, being held in Tokyo, Japan, from January 30-February 2.

The Vietnamese delegation briefed the conference on the situation of drug trafficking and drug abuse in the country as well as its efforts to combat the crime. It said Vietnamese law enforcement agencies will increase training programmes on drug control and amend related laws to increase the efficiency of the fight.

Delegates from 29 regional countries and territories and international organisations exchanged information about international drug trafficking activities and shared experience in drug control to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among concerned countries in the region.
