Vietnam has completed universal preschool education for five-year-old children, and is making efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of the universalisation of preschool education among children below five years old, he said.

The official highlighted the significance of education and training to national sustainable development, and stressed that the Vietnamese Party and State consider education and training the top national policy and a common cause of the entire society.

He shared Vietnam’s experience in this field such as promoting the Party’s leadership; mobilizing the involvement of socio-political organisations; intensifying communication work; and developing the network of preschools, especially in industrial and processing areas, among others.

During his stay in Mexico, Long and his entourage visited an establishment of Mexico’s Early Childhood Education Centres (CENDI).

He lauded CENDI’s preschool education methods that target poor children, and called on the network to share its experience with Vietnamese education agencies.

The annual meeting brought together more than 1,500 delegates from 28 countries and territories.

On the sidelines of the event, the Vietnamese delegation met with National Coordinator of Mexico’s Labour Party (PT) Alberto Anaya who reiterated his hope for stronger cooperation in preschool education between the party and Vietnam.
