VietJet Air brings home 217 Vietnamese citizens from Indonesia

VOV.VN - Budget airline VietJet Air on July 29 safely repatriated a total of 217 Vietnamese citizens left stranded in Indonesia due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The repatriation flight was arranged by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia and relevant agencies of the host country.  

After landing at Can Tho International Airport, all the passengers and crew members underwent medical check-ups and were transferred to military-based quarantine facilities in Can Tho and Tra Vinh cities, according to regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

The majority of passengers on board the aircraft were minors under 18, people with underlying illness, students who had completed the academic year without accommodation, workers with expired visas, and others in specially difficult circumstances.

The same day, VietJet Air also brought home another 177 Vietnamese citizens from Brunei. The returnees were brought to a military-based isolation area in Can Tho city.
