VFF President receives Catholic Church leader
VOV.VN -On February 5, Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) President Nguyen Thien Nhan received the Episcopal Council of the Catholic Church of Vietnam Archbishop Paul Bui Van Doc in Hanoi.
Nhan wished a happy and successful New Year to the Catholic Church leader who is also Archbishop of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese, the Episcopal Council and Catholic community nationwide.
He also briefed his guest about the positive development of ties between Vietnam and the Vatican – particularly Party and State leaders’ visits to the Vatican, and the outcomes of meetings between Nhan himself and the Prime Minister of Vatican, Cardinal Pietro Parolin last year.
The VFF leader glowingly spoke of the Pope’s message on environmental protection and recalled that the front, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and 14 religions in Vietnam convened a national meeting to enhance religions’ role in environmental protection and climate change adaptation.
Doc thanked the VFF President for his support, and wished the VFF Standing Committee a happy and prosperous New Year.
