The delegation, led by Vu Trong Kim, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the VFF Central Committee, visited the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sydney and overseas Vietnamese people living in the suburbs of Paramatta and Cabramatta.
At the meeting, Kim said the contributions made by overseas Vietnamese in Australia to their homeland are highly valued. They are, he added, also recognized for their great sense of solidarity and mutual support.
Some 300,000 Vietnamese people live in Australia. So far, the Vietnamese community has secured a firm foothold in Australian society and has made significant donations to support their fellow countrymen hit by natural disasters back home.
Earlier on April 25, the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Canberra.
At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Hoang Vinh Thanh presented a certificate of merit to the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Australia and an insignia to its chairman Tran Ba Phuc, who is also member of the VFF Central Committee.
