The Vesak 2010 and the 2254th Year of the Buddhist Calendar have been celebrated in Moscow by the Moscow Buddhist Centre in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha (VBS).
At the ceremony, the delegates heard a Buddhist message given by the Buddhist Supreme Patriarch and a speech delivered by the Superior Monk Thich Gia Quang and Chairman of the VBS Executive Council.
Quang called on Buddhist followers living far from home to unite and overcome every challenge to make more contributions to their homeland.
This is the second time such a Vesak has been held in Russia by the VBS.
