The US Congress will consider a budget for activities to overcome the consequences of Agent Orange (AO) in Vietnam, said a special envoy of Senator Patrick Leahy who is the Chairman of the US Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs at a press briefing in Hanoi, on December 17.

This is the first time the US administration has decided to provide a budget for activities to overcome the AO consequences in Vietnam. Accordingly, these activities will begin next year with a focus on detoxifying AO/dioxin at “hot” spots and helping AO/dioxin victims.

If this happens, this will be the first time the US Administration has assumed its responsibility for solving issues of AO/dioxin in Vietnam
