The association will conduct a series of activities to commemorate International Women’s Day (March 8) and Vietnamese women’s historic events such as the 50 years since the establishment of the ‘long-haired’ army and the 1970^th anniversary of the Trung Sisters Uprising against the Chinese invaders.

Other events will be the 80^th anniversary of the Union and the 45^th anniversary of the ‘Ba Dam Dang’ movement among Vietnamese women during the war against US aggressors.

Additionally, the Union will review its past activities to protect the legitimate rights of women and discuss new plans and models to assist poor and disadvantaged women.

The anniversary celebrations will gather some 700 representatives of women from all parts of the country who are expected to share experience and highlight the role of Vietnamese women in safeguarding and building the country.
