The United Nations Educational and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO) will help Vietnam improve the efficiency of illiteracy elimination through a project signed with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) in Hanoi on December 1.
Signatories were Nguyen Van Vong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, and Chu Shiu-Kee, Head of the UNESCO representative office in Hanoi.
The €800,000 project aims to set up a network of educational centres in all provinces and cities across the country and improve the capacity of education officials at all levels.
Under the project, UNESCO educational experts will work with Vietnamese colleagues from the MoET to compile teaching materials for community-based educational centres.
