A solemn meeting was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on May 15 to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 120th birth anniversary.
The meeting also marked 20 years of UNESCO recognition of Uncle Ho as a national liberation hero and a cultural celebrity.
Ambassador Tran Trong Toan highlighted President Ho Chi Minh’s role in leading the Vietnamese people’s struggle for national liberation to victory.
“President Ho Chi Minh has left a great cause to the nation and an invaluable spiritual legacy. Ho Chi Minh Thought, a system of comprehensive viewpoints on the fundamentals of the Vietnamese revolution, has been upheld during the country’s renewal process, industrialisation and modernisation,” he said.
A representative of the Vietnam Students’ Association in the RoK delivered a speech, expressing respect for their forefathers, who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom.
The meeting ended with a concert praising the Party, Uncle Ho and the homeland of Vietnam.
