UN exhibition shows Vietnam’s human rights promotion commitment globally
VOV.VN - Vietnam opened a photo exhibition at the United Nations headquarters in New York on October 13, highlighting its commitment to promoting human rights globally.

The event, chaired by Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang, attracted representatives from UN agencies, diplomatic missions, international organisations, as well as the Vietnamese community in New York.
The exhibition takes place at a time when Vietnam is a member of the UN Human Rights Council for the 2023-2025 term, and it is actively campaigning for re-election for the 2026-2028 term.
Featuring more than 50 artistic photographs mostly taken by reporters from Vietnam News Agency, the exhibition offers an all-encompassing view of a modern, humane, integrated, and dynamic Vietnam. From the majestic beauty of Ha Long Bay, the terraced fields of the Northwest, the ancient town of Hoi An, to the vibrant modern life of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, each photo tells a vivid story of harmony between tradition and modernity, reflecting tolerance and respect for diversity that are the core values expressed in the exhibition’s message.
Notably, many photos highlight Vietnam’s outstanding achievements in ensuring human rights, including gender equality, children’s rights, education, health care, ethnic minority development, climate change response, and environmental protection. These achievements demonstrate Vietnam’s tireless efforts in fulfilling the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The exhibition also serves as a platform for exchange and information sharing about Vietnam’s country, people, and culture, as well as introducing the country’s priorities, initiatives, and contributions at the United Nations in the coming time, including the hosting of the signing ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi on October 25, 2025.
Through this exhibition, Vietnam conveys the message of a positive and responsible member state that prioritises dialogue and cooperation in ensuring human rights, while sharing good practices and sustainable, inclusive development experiences in line with the spirit of the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Vietnam is committed to continuing its active contribution to the international community’s joint efforts, promoting human rights based on the principles of respecting sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, equality, and mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to building a peaceful, just, humane, and prosperous world for all.
