More than 260 delegates from 45 nations around the globe and international organizations and diplomatic missions in Hanoi have attended the United Nations High-level Tripartite Conference on Delivering as One (DaO), which opened in Hanoi on June 14.

The conference will provide the agenda for the next actions to strengthen and promote the DaO approach among the volunteer nations implementing this initiative.

The DaO initiative was comprised of five pillars, namely a joint plan, joint budget, joint code of management, joint leadership and common voice. Eight nations voluntarily participated in this initiative since 2007, including Albania, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uruguay and Vietnam.

Representatives of five of the above eight countries present their national assessment reports after three years of implementing the project and participants in the three-day conference will contribute for an independent assessment scheduled to take place by the end of this year.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen The Phuong said the Hanoi conference shows the Vietnamese government’s commitment to implementing the UN’s Delivering as One initiative and provides the first chance for reviewing achievements and challenges related to this approach.
