UK accepts vaccine passports from Vietnam

The UK has just announced to accept COVID-19 vaccine passports from some countries including Vietnam.

According to information published on the website of the UK government, people from other countries and territories coming to the country must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 14 days before the date of entry.

Some vaccines that are accepted in the UK include Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer- BioNTech, Moderna, and Janssen.

The vaccine certificates must be granted by state-level public health agencies. The certificates must be written in English, French or Spanish with details including names, dates of birth, kinds of vaccine and producers, dates of first and second jabs, and country/territories of vaccination.

The UK government has also removed all countries from its red list for international travel. Travellers from the last seven countries remained on the list after the previous update this month including Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama, Peru and Venezuela will no longer need to quarantine on arrival.

Vietnam currently accepts COVID-19 vaccine passports from 72 countries and territories and is in discussions with 80 others.

"Vietnam is temporarily accepting the vaccination certificate forms, otherwise known as vaccine passports, from 72 countries and territories that have been recommended to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via representatives," Vietnamese foreign ministry spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang said at a recent press conference.

"The ministry is also discussing with nearly 80 partners the acceptance of each other’s vaccine passports," the Vietnamese official added. "Vietnam’s vaccination certificates have also been accepted by certain countries and can be used to enter those countries."
