Vietnamese nationals living in the UK have raised nearly VND15 million to support victims of the Agent Orange and Typhoon Durian.

The aid, raised at a charitable music show in London on December 10, was handed over to Vietnamese Ambassador Trinh Duc Du on December 14.

Typhoon Durian, the 9th storm hitting Vietnam so far this year, has killed 83 people and left 11 others missing, according to a recent report by the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control. It caused a total loss of more than VND7 trillion.

Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has sent a message of condolences to his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung, over great losses caused by Typhoon Durian.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar also sent a message to Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem to express his condolences to typhoon victims.
