Two suspects arrested in drug trafficking case in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - Border guards in central Ha Tinh province have arrested two individuals for transporting 24,000 methamphetamine pills in a border area between Vietnam and Laos.

The arrests were made on April 12 at the Cau Treo International Border Gate in Ha Tinh province, as part of a joint operation by border guards and provincial police forces.

Hoang Duc Khanh, 24, from central Nghe An province, was caught carrying a backpack containing the drugs. Nguyen Van Nghia, 31, also from Nghe Anwas later detained following further investigation.

Initial statements indicated the pair had been hired to transport the drugs from an unidentified individual in Son Kim 1 border commune (Ha Tinh) to Trung Loc commune (Nghe An) for a payment of VND30 million.

The case remains under investigation.
