Two ships sunk, one fisherman missing

(VOV) - Two fishing ships were sunk due to strong wind and rough waves while operating on Sa Huynh coastal area in Duc Pho district, the central province of Quang Ngai on January 19, leaving one person missing.
The ship QNg – 48728TS, owned by Tran Van Tai in Pho Thanh commune, Duc Pho district, had three people on board. After the ship was hit by the waves, Tran Van Tai and another man were rescued, while the remaining fisherman, who was identified as Le Van Thu, 26, was reported missing.
The ship QNg – 44044TS with captain Tran Minh Nhanh and three crewmembers on board was stricken and sunk while fishing about half a mile from the shore. All victims were successfully evacuated by their their family members and other fishermen from nearby ships.
Pho Thanh communal authorities and Sa Huynh border guards are searching for the missing fisherman.
