Two hospitalized after trees fall due to fierce squalls
Rains carrying strong squalls hit Ho Chi Minh City on June 27 afternoon, knocking down many trees and injuring two people.
At 2:00 pm, fierce winds uprooted a tree and threw it onto a man riding a motorbike on Truong Chinh Street in Tan Phu District, causing him to pass out.
He was badly injured and completely stuck under the tree trunk, witnesses recounted, adding that they managed to pull the man out and rushed him to a nearby hospital.

The incident temporarily paralyzed traffic, they said, noting that police came shortly after and regulated the traffic flow.
Meanwhile, on Le Duan Street in District 1, Nguyen Thi Lam, 36, was hospitalized as she and her bike were hit by a tree branch due to the rainstorm at 2:30 pm.
The climatic event also broke many trees on Le Duan Street, hurling their branches onto decorative lighting frames and forcing police to block the street section from Pham Ngoc Thach Street to Pasteur to clear the fallen trees.
Le Cong Phuong, director of Green Park Co. Ltd., a local agency in charge of urban greening, confirmed the details, adding that his staff had visited and offered support of medical charges to the injured.
