Tropical low depression threatens thunder, heavy rain for central region

VOV.VN - Due to the effects of the circulation of a tropical depression, forecasters said there will be heavy downpours and thunderstorms in the coastal areas of Ca Mau, KienGiang, and the Gulf of Thailand.

At 1pm on November 7, the centre of the tropical depression was located at 10.5 degrees north and 100.5 degrees east, in the western region of the Gulf of Thailand. Strongest recorded wind speeds were between 40km and 50km per hour.

Over the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move northwest at a speed of about 10km per hour.

Forecasters said that as the low pressure system encounters a cold front, there will be thunderstorms and rough seas throughout the Tonkin Gulf and the coastal provinces of Quang Tri and Quang Nam, including Ly Son Island.

From now until the end of November 8, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Quang Binh, and ThuaThien Hue will see heavy downpours.
