Tropical depression weakens, no longer threatens the sea
VOV.VN - The tropical depression over the central Philippines weakened into a low-pressure area on the afternoon of December 8, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported.
At 1 p.m., the center of the low-pressure area was located at approximately 11.6°N latitude and 119.8°E longitude, over the eastern coastal area of Palawan Island (Philippines). Maximum sustained winds at the center have dropped below level 6 (under 39 km/h).
Forecasts indicate that over the next 12 hours, the low-pressure area will continue moving west-southwest at 10–15 km/h, gradually weakening and dissipating.
As a result, the system no longer poses a threat of strong winds at sea. Updates on strong winds and high waves across the East Sea will continue to be provided through regular advisories on sea winds, waves, and thunderstorms. This is the final bulletin regarding this tropical depression.
