Traffic death toll exceeds 7,600 in eleven months

In the first eleven months of 2017, Vietnam recorded 18,384 traffic accidents that killed 7,604 people.

Statistics from the National Committee for Traffic Safety showed another 15,189 people were injured in accidents, most of which took place on the roads.

Compared to the same period last year, the numbers for traffic accidents, deaths and injuries decreased by 5.38, 3.83, and 11.61% respectively.

The main causes of accidents were speeding, driving on the wrong lane, and poor driving skills, among others.

In November alone, traffic accidents amounted to 2,217, with 77 deaths.
