Traffic accidents kill nearly 80 during New Year holidays

VOV.VN - Ninety three traffic accidents were reported throughout the country in the three New Year holidays, resulted in 79 deaths and 54 injuries, according to National Traffic Safety Committee statistics.

More than 90% of the cases were road accidents.

Although no serious car accident was reported, careless driving and traffic congestions were the cause of these casualties, the committee said.

Traffic police seized and impounded nearly 80 cars and 1,200 motorbikes. More than 520 traffic law violators were deprived of driving license.
