On the occasion of the National Day for Vietnamese AO/dioxin Victims, the Toxicology magazine has officially launched its first edition in Hanoi.

Chief editor of the magazine Dr Le Ke Son said the magazine aims to exchange information and analysis from the studies into the effects of AO/dioxin on environment and human health, which US chemical companies provided for spraying in Vietnam during the war, as well as looking at policies for AO victims.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen confirmed that the magazine will store important documents on AO/dioxin for the next generation. Publishing the magazine reflects responsibility for AO victims shared by scientists and society. Other important research related to the field will also posted on the magazine.

Over the past 30 years, the National Committee for investigation into the consequences of US chemical warfare in Vietnam has conducted much scientific research on the effects of AO/dioxin on the environment and human health. However, this is the first time Vietnam has published these studies in a magazine. The magazine will be available to both local and overseas readers, with one edition every two months.

The magazine is published by the National Committee for investigation into the consequences of US chemical warfare in Vietnam and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
