Torrential rain inundates areas throughout northern region

VOV.VN - People throughout the north of the country were forced to endure a prolonged period of heavy downpours from September 9 to 10, resulting in rising water levels which caused severe difficulties in the daily lives of residents.

At least three people were killed in the northern province of Thai Nguyen following heavy rains hitting the region over the past two days.
With 120mm of rainfall across two days, flooding in Thai Nguyen city meant that local people faced an array of challenges in their day to day lives.
Streets across Thai Nguyen city such as Hoang Van Thu, Luong Ngoc Quyen, and Minh Cau are hit by severe flooding.
 
Some areas of the city see flood water rise to one metre high.
Three residents are found dead on the night of September 9 in Thai Nguyen city as a result of the heavy rain.
The prolonged period of rain leads to flood water beginning to seep into homes throughout the city.
 
A local coffee house is submerged by flooding.

 
According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorology Forecasting, the torrential rain is scheduled to last until September 12.
Heavy downpours that hit Hanoi on the morning of September 10 caused severe traffic congestion on main roads across the capital.
Vehicles are unable to travel through flooded areas on Minh Khai street.
Cars are forced to move at a sluggish pace due to the heavy congestion.
As a result of the bad conditions, serious traffic jams clog many of Hanoi’s main roads throughout the morning. Pictured is the route heading towards Chuong Duong bridge.
Long lines of vehicles and motorcycles were a common site on main roads across the city.

Torrential rains cause severe damage to several roads in Muong Te, Tan Uyen, and Sin Ho districts in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau.
Drivers face high levels of risk when travelling across the roads.
