Thua Thien-Hue reburies war martyrs’ remains found in Laos
VOV.VN - Central Thua Thien-Hue province held a solemn ceremony on May 13 to rebury 15 sets of remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts who died in Laos during the past war.
At the reburial ceremony, Thua Thien-Hue provincial leaders highlighted the service and sacrifice made by the fallen soldiers for Vietnam and Laos’ independence and freedom. Their sacrifice demonstrated the solidarity and special friendship between the two countries.
They called on further support from local authorities and people in Salavan and Sekong in searching and repatriating Vietnamese martyrs’ remains home.
Over the last 10 years, with enormous assistance of Lao Party, Government and people, the Search and Collection Team 192 has collected and repatriated remains of more than 800 Vietnamese soldiers and experts.
