Three deaths of dengue fever reported so far in 2018

As many as 14,079 dengue fever cases with three deaths have been reported so far this year across the country, a drop of 37.2% compared to the same period last year.

The deaths were recorded in the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc and the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau.

Last week, 24 localities were seen no dengue fever cases, while the number of infections fell or remain the same compared to the previous week. Only Binh Duong province reported a rise of six cases during the reviewed period.
The Department of Preventive Medicine forecast that the disease may continue developing complicatedly in the coming time if preventive measures are not implemented drastically.

Vietnam experienced a boom of dengue fever in 2017 when 181,054 infection cases and 30 deaths were reported in almost all localities, mostly Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

People are advised to kill mosquitoes and larvae and eliminate their shelters, and protect themselves from mosquito by sleeping in mosquito nets.
