Three Chinese nationals arrested for alleged theft

The suspects were identified as Liao Zhibo, 31, Wei Jinlian, 37, and Wei Zhi Heng, 31, all from Guangxi in China.

According to initial reports, Wei Zhi Heng and Wei Jinlian entered Vietnam illegally while Liao Zhibo entered the country under the guise of a sightseeing tour but disappeared in order to join his two accomplices.

Once reunited, the three suspects set about breaking into the headquarters of enterprises in large industrial zones by drilling into safe boxes and stealing any cash or gold found inside.

Once questioned at the police station, the thieves admitted to carrying out at least six break-ins in the provinces of Thanh Hoa and Ha Nam. The value of stolen goods is estimated to be VND763 million.

Authorities are still investigating the case.
