The Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico held a banquet on February 11 for expatriates and representatives of other foreign diplomatic corps to celebrate Vietnam’s traditional Tet holiday.

Addressing the party, Ambassador to Mexico Pham Van Que said Vietnam is determined to elevate trade relations with Mexico to be on a par with their bilateral political ties which have fared nicely so far. He thanked the guests for supporting Vietnam in overcoming difficult times and reiterated the country’s wish to receive continued assistance from the international community, including Mexico.

For his part, Felix Castellano, Standing member of the Presidium of the Mexico-Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Association (MVFCA), confirmed his country’s determination to increase exchange activities in the coming time so as to increase mutual understanding and people-to-people cooperation between the two countries.

Castellano praised the great achievements of Vietnam in various areas, which he said, have improved its people’s lives.

Earlier on February 10, the Vietnamese embassy in Nigeria also held a similar party to celebrate Tet, which was attended by representatives of various foreign diplomatic corps in Nigeria.
