The Montgomerie Links Vietnam Golf Club, headquartered in the central region, will continue to host the Terry Fox Run in Vietnam on March 21 to raise funds for cancer research.

“We expect to raise more than VND100 million from this event, which is expected to draw about 2,000 participants,” Jon Tomlinson, Director General of Montgomerie Links, said.

The funds raised will be dedicated to cancer patients and cancer research in Vietnam.

In 2009, the Montgomerie Links Golf Club, under the assistance of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CanCham), organised the Terry Fox Run, which drew 1,500 participants and raised more than VND70 million.

The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held in various regions around the world to commemorate Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox, who made a Marathon of Hope run across Canada to raise funding for cancer research in 1980 after losing a leg to osteosarcoma.
