Ten outstanding young Vietnamese faces honoured
VOV.VN - Ten outstanding Vietnamese and ten promising young Vietnamese people were honoured at a national awards ceremony in Hanoi on March 21 in recognition of their notable achievements and contributions to national development.
The recipients are those who excelled in scientific research, production, national defence, security, sports, business start-ups, culture and arts, and social activity.
Addressing the ceremony, Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam, praised the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for launching many movements and programmes, including the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Awards, to promote the youth’s great role in building and defending the Vietnamese state.
Over the past 25 years, the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Awards has made a significant contribution to the discovery and fostering of young talents, helping generate high-quality human resources for the nation, noted Thuong.
He singled out this year’s awardees for the role they play in realizing Vietnam’s mighty aspiration and inspiring society, especially the young generation.
Many outstanding young faces have great pervasive power, setting a shining example for the youth to follow suit, stressed the Party official.
Pinning high hopes on the awardees, Thuong reminded them not to rest on their laurels but to work hard to achieve new successes in their careers to serve the fatherland and people.
He also requested Party committees, authorities, businesses and the entire society to create the best conditions for young people to promote their talents in building and defending a happy and prosperous Vietnamese state.
