Taiwan hosts Homeland Spring program for OVs

VOV.VN - An annual Homeland Spring program celebrating the TET (Lunar New Year) and traditional Vietnamese culture transpired in Taiwan on January 6 featuring a diverse array of social and cultural activities.

The event is organized by the Economic Cultural Office in Taipei. 

The celebration includes traditional song, dance and food and is an opportune time for Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) to socialize with old and become acquainted with new friends.

Tran Duy Hai, director of the Office of Economic Culture in Taipei delivers an opening address at the event.

An estimated 18,000 employees and family members are currently residing in Taiwan.

There are also more than 100,000 Vietnamese brides married to Taiwanese domiciled in Taiwan.

Artist Chi Trung, deputy director of the Youth Theatre, in Taiwan says the cultural exchange keeps core spirit, customs and traditions of the homeland alive.
