Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the National Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) Nguyen Phu Binh said that the camp is a good chance for young overseas Vietnamese to understand Party and State policies towards the overseas Vietnamese community, meet and conduct exchanges with their peers, explore the historical and cultural tradition of the nation and improve their Vietnamese language.

During the event which will last till August 2, young overseas Vietnamese will make tours of historic relics and landscapes in eight cities and provinces, conduct exchanges with local people and participate in voluntary activities in orphanages and in remote and far-flung areas.
This is the third time such a Summer Camp has been held since 2004. The two previous events attracted more than 170 young overseas Vietnamese.
