Vietnam on July 28 confirmed 31 new cases of A/H1N1 flu, including 22 in southern provinces, three in the north, one in the central region, and five in the Central Highlands, according to the Ministry of Health.

By 5pm on July 28, Vietnam had recorded a total of 703 cases testing positive for the A/H1N1 flu, but no fatalities. 386 A/H1N1 flu patients have been discharged from hospital. The remaining 317 cases are now in isolation undergoing treatment in hospitals, or under surveillance in their home communities. All are in stable condition.

The Hanoi 1080 switchboard now operates a service that answers all questions relating to the A/H1N1 flu epidemic.

At any time in the day, people can call 1080 to receive information on the A/H1N1 flu epidemic supplied by Hanoi’s Health Department and the Department of Preventive Health and Environment.

In addition, if having flu symptoms, customers can call 1080, then touch Number 2 to speak to a doctor for advice.

The Prime Minister has agreed to extend non-refundable aid to the Fund for Preventing Flu until December 31, 2010.

The PM has assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to work closely with the Ministry of Health and other related agencies to ensure the project will make headway toward achieving its set goals.

All 9 suspected cases of A/H1N1 in the Viettel building have tested negative with four confirmed with common flu and five with no virus.
