State President Nguyen Minh Triet attended the “Festival for Handicapped and Disadvantaged Children” held in Hanoi’s Van Mieu (the Temple of Literature) on May 22 by Nhi Dong (Children) newspaper and PLAN International to celebrate the International Children’s Day (June 1).
During his talk with children, he encouraged them to surmount difficulties and learn hard to make useful contributions to the homeland.
He said that the Party, State and all sectors in society always make every effort to look after disabled and underprivileged children.
On the occasion of the festival, Nhi Dong and PLAN International reviewed the results of a drawing contest entitled "My dream" launched in early May for children with disabilities.
