South-East region blood transfusion centre inaugurated

(VOV) - A blood transfusion centre serving the South-East region was inaugurated at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on October 5.

The centre is one of the four approved by the Prime Minister, with the remaining three to be located in Hanoi, Hue, and Can Tho.

The facility was built at a cost of VND140 billion, financed via a World Bank loan and the State Budget.

With an annual capacity of 70,000 blood units, it is undoubtedly one of Vietnam’s most modern blood transfusion centres meeting GMP standards.

Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Xuyen said the centre will help meet the demands for high quality blood from the region’s hospitals, including those in Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces.
