Son La border guard busts two Lao drug traffickers

VOV.VN - Border guards in the northern province of Son La arrested two Lao nationals suspected of trafficking 18,000 pills of synthetic drugs and two bricks of heroin.

The suspects, Thao Sua Thin and Mua Lao Thai were detained at Ta Vang hamlet, Long Phieng commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province at 4:30pm on April 2.

Police confiscated two packs of heroin, 18,000 pills of synthetic drugs, a motorbike, and other related evidence. According to an initial statement, the alleged drug smugglers admitted to having been hired by a Vietnamese person to smuggle drugs from Laos to Vietnam.

A police man from Yen Chau district, Son La province was injured in the course of arrest and is receiving treatment at Moc Chau district’s hospital. The case is under further investigation.
