Delegates attending a recent seminar in Hanoi demonstrated their resolve to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in Vietnam and called for closer cooperation and further assistance from non-governmental organisations to curb the pandemic.

The seminar, which was held in anticipation of World AIDS Day (December 1), was attended by medical experts, representatives from mass organisations, people infected by HIV/AIDS virus and their caretakers.

Delegates heard presentations on the HIV/AIDS pandemic developing in Vietnam and other parts of the world, the fight against the disease as well as the stigma and discrimination suffered by people living with HIV/AIDS.

They shared the view that the fight against HIV/AIDS is a challenging task requiring the responsibility of every citizen, family and social strata and close cooperation between people and social organisations. They affirmed the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s important role in maintaining support for the fight against the lethal disease.
