Sao Khue Awards 2026 to standardise evaluation under international standards

VOV.VN - The Sao Khue Awards 2026 were officially launched on the afternoon of January 20 in Hanoi by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), marking the start of one of Vietnam’s longest-running awards programmes for digital products and solutions.

First introduced in 2003 and organised by VINASA, the Sao Khue Awards have accompanied the development of Vietnam’s IT industry for more than two decades. Over the past 22 years, the awards have honoured 1,913 digital products, solutions and services, reflecting successive stages of the sector’s evolution, from computerisation and application software to digital transformation, the digital economy and core technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, digital platforms and information security.

The 23rd edition of the Sao Khue Awards will continue to recognise outstanding products and services, while introducing a new-generation evaluation model for the first time.
The revised evaluation framework is designed to provide a more comprehensive reflection of the capabilities, maturity levels and development structure of Vietnam’s digital technology industry. As a result, Sao Khue 2026 marks a change in how Vietnamese digital technology products and solutions are assessed and honoured.

Under the new framework, the entire system of award fields and categories will be restructured based on a revised methodology, replacing the previous approach that largely grouped entries by broad application areas. Products and solutions will be classified into eight core technology domains, further broken down into 32 specialised categories. The eight key domains include: digital infrastructure and platforms; breakthrough technologies; information security; digital government and digital governance; digital economy and digital transactions; digital content and user experience; social impact and ESG; and digital services. The reorganisation is intended to cover the full digital technology value chain, from infrastructure, platforms and core technologies to industry-specific application solutions, in a more systematic manner.

Sao Khue 2026 will apply a new evaluation methodology based on three core dimensions, known as the 3D Scoring Matrix, in line with international standards. The framework comprises Domain, Maturity and Value Nature, enabling an assessment of digital technology products and solutions that takes into account technological foundations, maturity levels and practical value.
