Samsung supports local contestants in World Skills Competition

VOV.VN - The Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) and the General Directorate of Vocational Training signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on April 21 for a programme to support the training of Vietnamese contestants and experts in attending the 46th World Skills Competition (WSC).

Moving forward, the event is scheduled to take place later this year in Shanghai, China.

According to details set out in the MoU, Samsung will support Vietnamese experts and contestants in the field of Information and Technology (IT) and Computer Aided Design (CAD), as well as cover all the costs related to the competition during the 2022 World Skills Competition and the training course.

Truong Anh Dung, director general of the Generate Directorate, said that with the Samsung’s support, the Vietnamese team has set the goal of winning several medals at the competition.

In the 2019 version, Truong The Dieu of the Vietnam Training Academy of DENSO Vietnam Co.,Ltd brought home a silver medal in Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Milling, the highest achievement after seven times entering the tournament.

Furthermore, in 2018 Tran Nguyen Ba Phuoc of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City also won a bronze medal in the occupation of IT software solutions.
