Russians in Vietnam cast ballots in presidential election
Russian nationals headed to ballot stations in Vietnam to elect a new President of Russia on March 18 when the election was also taking place in their homeland.

Nadezhda Ilixeva, who is working for Russia’s trade representative office in Vietnam, said this is the second time she has elected the Russian President in Vietnam, adding that the election runs smoothly and rapidly.
Denis and Alexander, tourists from Moscow, commented on thorough preparations for the Russian presidential election in Vietnam.
On March 14-16-18, the Russian Embassy in Vietnam set up a number of polling stations in Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces and Da Nang city in the central region, the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
The embassy has also popularised the time, ballot stations and procedures of the election through the media, its website in Vietnam as well as travel companies.
In Da Nang city, local authorities and competent agencies have created the best possible conditions for Russian nationals in the city to exercise their rights and obligations.
About 750 Russian officials, engineers and workers of Vietsovpetro, a Vietnam – Russia joint venture, and their relatives living in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, also cast their ballots on the day.
Meanwhile, in HCM City, 33 Russians came to the polling station established at the headquarters of the Russian Consulate General one hour after the voting began to elect a new President. The city houses many Russians who are working in the fields of trade, tourism, oil and gas, and tourism.
