Russian doctors assist passenger in medical emergency on Vietnam Airlines flight
VOV.VN - On a recent Vietnam Airlines flight VN62 from Moscow to Hanoi, a 55-year-old Russian traveler experienced a health issue approximately two hours after takeoff.

The cabin crew promptly implemented emergency procedures, assisting him to a designated area, instructing him to rest in a suitable position, and broadcasting a call for medical assistance from other travelers on board.
Notably, the flight included four Russian doctors. Upon receiving the request, they immediately coordinated with the cabin crew to examine, consult, and provide timely medical interventions. After initial care, the passenger was moved to the Premium Economy cabin to rest more comfortably, with his condition continuously monitored for the remainder of the flight. Upon landing at Noi Bai International Airport, his health had stabilized.
Vietnam Airlines has previously encountered cases of in-flight medical issues requiring urgent measures, including emergency landings at the nearest airports to provide timely assistance. These incidents demonstrate the airline’s swift response capability, encompassing on-board first aid, mobilization of doctors, coordination with ground medical support, and operational adjustments, all aimed at safeguarding health and safety despite potential cost implications.
Vietnam Airlines advises travelers to monitor their health before flying, particularly those with chronic conditions or a history of cardiovascular or blood pressure issues, and to carry prescribed medications in hand luggage for immediate use if necessary. The airline emphasizes that passenger safety and health remain its top priority, with a professional, systematic in-flight medical care protocol, trained crew capable of providing first aid, and emergency kits readily available on every aircraft.
