The Outgoing Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Vadim Seraphimov, was awarded the Medal for Peace and Friendship among Nations by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation (VUFO) on July 14.

The award was in recognition of his contributions to strengthening relations between Russia and Vietnam, especially in people-to-people diplomacy, said Vu Xuan Hong, VUFO President at the ceremony.

Ambassador Seraphimov said it was his honour for him to receive the esteemed prize, personally since throughout his diplomatic life, he has developed a close connection to the people in all three Indochinese countries.

The ambassador promised that he would continue to play his part in promoting the close relationship between Russia and Vietnam - a country that he has known and worked with for more than 30 years.

During his term in Vietnam since 2005, he has actively contributed to all activities instigated by Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association in order to strengthen and further develop the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam.
