Rush hour ban for taxis on several Hanoi streets

VOV.VN -The Hanoi Transport Department has published a list featuring 11 streets which are to be prohibited for taxis during rush hours in the capital city.

The streets on which taxis and commercial cars with under nine seats are to be banned during rush hours, from 6am to 9am and from 4.30pm to 7 pm, except for on weekends and holidays, are Giang Vo, Lang Ha, Le Van Luong, Truong Chinh from Vuong Thua Vu to Ton That Tung, and Kham Thien from Le Duan to O Cho Dua.

The vehicles will also be prohibited on Chuong Duong bridge, from Nguyen Van Cu to Tran Nhat Duat, between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., except for on weekends and holidays.

Taxis and commercial cars are to be banned on Hang Bai street, from Tran Hung Dao to Ly Thuong Kiet, from 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

They will also be completely banned from several streets, such as Phu Doan, from Trang Thi and Hang Bong, Cau Giay-Xuan Thuy, and alley No.879 of Giai Phong around the entrance to the southern bus station. 

The ban is part of the city's latest efforts to tackle increasing levels of traffic congestion.

Any vehicles violating the ban will be fined between VND800,000 and VND1,2 million.
