Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) signed a cooperation agreement in Hanoi on June 18 to promote bilateral cooperation in informatics.
An MoU to this effect was signed by the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the RoK Ministry of Administration and Public Security.
MIC Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said the signing aimed to facilitate the establishment and development of e-government in the country.
The two countries will increase cooperation in IT training and Vietnam will participate in an IT training programme (KOIL) carried out by the RoK government.
A public-private IT forum between the two sides will be also set up to promote cooperation between the governments and businesses of both countries.
Additionally, the RoK internet voluntary programme (KIV) in Vietnam is expected to be further expanded.
