A group of doctors and nurses from the Republic of Korea will perform free surgery for 62 Vietnamese hare lip and cleft palate children under a humanitarian programme of the Global Care organisation.

Twenty-seven professors and nurses from ten RoK hospitals, including eight university hospitals, will conduct free operations in Hanoi Paediatric Hospital from March 25-29.

The Global Care of the RoK began its humanitarian surgery programmes in Vietnam in 1997, and has helped bring smiles to 500 Vietnamese children so far.

Apart from free operations, Global Care will partly cover accommodation costs for patients’ carers from their families.
