The Lao province of Champasak has repatriated 49 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in battlefields in Laos.

Speaking at a ceremony held recently, Champasak Deputy Governor Somsanith Boutivong expressed deep gratitude to Vietnamese volunteers and experts who had contributed to the fraternal Lao people’s struggle for national independence.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Highlands Kon Tum provincial People’s Committee thanked the Party committees, administrations and people of southern Lao provinces for creating conditions for Kon Tum’s special working group to search and collect remains of the Vietnamese martyrs in Laos.

This was the second time Champasak province has repatriated remains of Vietnamese martyrs to the Vietnamese side.
